About Us

Western Prairie Human Services mission is to be a person centered agency that partners with and empowers individuals and families, and promotes safe, healthy communities .

After four years of Western Prairie Human Services coming together we are please to announce that Traverse County Social Services has joined Western Prairie Human Services January 1, 2026 .

We believe the services provided to the citizens of all three counties are strengthened as we become one Western Prairie Human Services. We believe that by investing in the stability of the agencies, it allows us to ensure that the services we provide keep people safe, improve access to better healthcare, and mitigate generational poverty.

All three offices remain fully staffed and open, with supervisors and specialized staff traveling between all three offices as we do now. Continuity for the people we serve and quality of service remains our number one priority. The public will be able to utilize all three offices regardless of which county you live in.

Western Prairie Human Services follows the path of other county partnerships in this process, taking from
their successes that we can also provide person-centered care to the communities we serve while also providing an environment of growth for our staff.
